Total lockdown in Tamil Nadu for two weeks.

The Tamil Nadu Government on Saturday announced a total lockdown of two weeks starting from 10th May, Monday amid surge of Covid-19 cases in the state with a record 26,000+ cases reported on Friday.

Tamil Nadu’s CM Stalin said due to ‘unavoidable circumstances’ they have to enforce the state under a “Total Lockdown” of two weeks. And decision has been taken after having a meeting with district collectors and on consultation of the medical experts. “There will be total lockdown from 4am Monday (10th May) till 4am Monday (24th May).

Essential service and staff to be allowed to work with 50% staff and restaurants to be allowed only for takeaways. No vehicle to be allowed on roads except emergency, weddings, funerals and other essential supplies.

Tamil Nadu currently is among 12 states in India having more than 1 lakh active cases.
