Wrestler Sushil Kumar, the only Indian to win 2 individual Olympic medals has been on the run since May 3, after his involvement in the Chatrasal Brawl case in which He and his associates killed a fellow 23-year old (former junior National champion) wrestler Sagar Kumar alias Sagar Rana Dhankad.
On Monday, Delhi Police announced a ₹1 Lakh cash reward on any information about Sushil Kumar leading to his arrest after the Wrestler has been on the run hiding since past 2 weeks. Now, on Tueday Sushil Kumar has filed a plea in Delhi’s Rohini Court seeking anticipatory bail.
The plea is due hearing in court on Tuesday. The plea is file just days after a Non-bailable warrant was issued against Sushil Kumar by the court after Delhi Police was not able to trace his whereabouts even after a lookout notice was issued against him.
“We have announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh for information leading to the arrest of Sushil Kumar and Rs 50,000 on his associate Ajay, who is also absconding in the case,” said a senior Delhi Police officer.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Police has opposed Sushil Kumar’s plea seeking anticipatory bail.
