Apple launched the new gen iMac at the spring loaded event recently, it will be available in India by the end of may. The new iMac comes with M1 chipset that is used in iMac for the first time. Last year apple launched it’s new MacBook with the same chipset.
Apple says that due the new M1 chip they’re able to reduce the size of the components inside and are able to reduce the weight of the iMac significantly. iMac is now at its slimmest with 11.5mm thickness and weighs only 4.5kgs.
iMac for the first time ever will now come with apple’s touch-id on their magic keyboard, by which users will be able to log-in via their fingerprint.
New iMac specifications :
The new iMac will feature a 23.5inch 4.5k retina display with 500 nits of max brightness, 11.3million pixels and P3 1B color support. It will also feature Apple’s true tone technology that is able to adjust it’s color temperature on its own as per the surroundings that comes with anti-reflective coating.
The new M1 chipset comes with eight CPU cores and eight GPU cores that will be able to perform 50% better than it’s predecessor as claimed by Apple. It also boasts 3x faster machine learning than the previous generation iMac.
iMac will come with 2 storage options a 256gb and a 512gb variant, both having 8gb of unified memory. It will have 2 thunder-bolt ports with USB type-4 support. The premium model will also have two USB type-3 port with gigabit ethernet support.
it will also have a 1080p embedded webcam with 6 speakers and a 3 mic-array.
Launch & Availability :
The pre-bookings starts from 30th April 2021 and will be available at the Apple stores after mid May.
The new iMac starts at ₹1,19,900 for the base variant with 256gb storage and 7-core GPU with only 4 colors options.
The mid variant costs ₹1,39,900 which comes with a 8-core GPU and 256gb of storage.
The high-end premium variant is priced ₹1,59,900 which comes with a 8-core GPU and 512gb storage with all 7 colors available.
