Maharashtra suspends vaccination for 18-45 age group, due to shortage.

Maharashtra government on Tuesday decided to suspend the ongoing vaccination drive for people of 18-45 years age group due to Vaccine shortage in the state. State Health Minister Rajesh Tope told the media that the Maharashtra government has decided to prioritise 45+ age group since vaccine doses are very limited and they’re prioritising 2nd doses for 45+ rather than 1st dose for 18-45 age group. However, the move is temporary until the stocks arrive. Tope also mentioned that they only have about 2.75lakhs doses left.

He also informed that patients suffering from mucormycosis or black fungus disease will now be treated free-of-cost in the state under Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jan Arogya Yojana.

Also, the decision to extend the lockdown will taken in tomorrow’s meet, he said.
