FIR filed against Olympian Sushil Kumar & several others, over a murder at Delhi stadium.

Sushil Kumar, the two time Olympic medalist is now under Delhi Police’s scanner for his alleged role in connection to murder of a 23 year old wrestler at Delhi’s Chhatrasal Stadium.

According to the reports a brawl broke out where a 23 year old wrestler died and his 2 friends got injured after being brutally assaulted by other wrestlers inside Chhatrasal Stadium in Delhi.

According to the police on early hours of Wednesday they received an information regarding firing inside the Chhatrasal Stadium. Police found 5 cars parked in the parking area of the stadium. And on enquiring they found that a brawl had taken place allegedly between Sushil Kumar, Ajay, Prince, Sonu, Sagar, Amit, and others in the parking lot. On the basis of the information police filed a FIR under sections of IPC and arms act.

“All the five vehicles and weapons of offence were seized. The crime scene was further inspected by forensic experts of FSL, Rohini,” Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (northwest) Guriqbal Singh Sidhu said.

The injured were shifted to BJRM Hospital for treatment. They were identified as Sagar, a resident of Model Town, Amit Kumar, 27, a resident of Rohtak in Haryana, and Sonu, 35, a resident of Sonipat in Haryana. During the treatment 23-year old Sagar Kumar, a junior national champion succumbed to his injuries and died.

Police held Prince Dalal, and confiscated 2 double-barrel-loaded gun belonging to him. Also, recovered 5 cars, 2 wooden sticks and seven live cartridges.

According to sources, the incident took place over a property dispute in the model town area. While, police is still investigating Sushil Kumar’s role in this case.

Meanwhile Sushil Kumar gave a statement over the incident stating ” ….they all were unknowns. And He, his wrestlers and their stadium has no connection or involvement in the case”.
