Amit Mistry an actor known for his roles in bollywood and Gujarati cinemas, ( Yamla Pagla Deewana, Shor in the city, Ek chaalis ki last local to name a few) died of a heart attack this morning. Maharshi Desai (his manager) confirmed the news of his demise while saying “I am in complete shock myself. He was all well and was at his home only. He didn’t even complain of any health issue. Post breakfast he felt an ache in his heart and it was a heart attack and his family couldn’t even take him to the hospital. It is a big loss for the entertainment industry to lose an actor like him and I will miss working with him”.
His friends in the industry poured in their condolences over twitter with many expressing a shock on hearing the news of his demise. His close friend & a producer Mahir Khan, who has worked with him on several episodes of Saavdhan India said “I talked to him over phone some 10 days back. He was healthy and had asked me if I am planning to work on something, when they both can work together and we will meet soon” while expressing his grief. Mahir last worked with him in October 2020, for episodes of Saavdhan India in Delhi.
Amit was last seen in Bandish Bandits which premiered on Amazon Prime Video.
