848 kgs of used surgical gloves recovered from 2 godowns in Delhi.

The Delhi police has recovered around 848kgs of used surgical gloves from 2 godowns in South-west Delhi and 3 people have been held for the same. According to the police these men used to collect used gloves or buy them from scrap dealers and recycled them, then packed them in new boxes for reselling them as new unused ones.

The 3 arrested have been identified as Arun Shriniwasan, 36-year-old Kerala resident, Manish Kumar,30, and Dinesh Kumar Rajput,28, both from Delhi. Police arrested them on Tuesday and were booked on charges of “disobedience to order duly promulgated by a public servant and negligent act, likely to spread infection of [a] disease danger­ous to life”.

This a second such seizure this month. On May 4-5 a similar case was reported where Police recovered used surgical gloves from Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad.
