On Wednesday India made a unrequired, discouraging record with the biggest spike in daily Covid cases at 3.14lakhs. It is the biggest rise in Covid cases and fastest with 2000+ deaths in a single day. The previous biggest Covid spike was 2,97,430 recorded in USA, last January.
The country is facing its worst wave with an acute shortage of oxygen, beds and medicines throughout the country. Meanwhile, the centre has assured that they are closely and continuously monitoring the situation has increased the “oxygen quota” for the worst hit 7 states with an acute oxygen shortage – Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana & Punjab.
India is recording more than 2Lakh cases since 15th April 2021. And more than 3Lakh cases for the first time since start of the pandemic with Maharashtra, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Karnatka, Kerala being the 5 worst hit states. Every other day fresher and stricter restrictions are being imposed over the cities in order to curb the covid spread. The hospitals are over-capacitated and there’s a huge shortage of medical supplies everywhere. Even the cremation grounds and crematoriums are running at full capacities as the dead bodies are piling up in huge numbers. The situation is at it’s worst and we’re looking at a more grimmer times ahead.
